I'm sure there are a lot of people out there just like me, who create and run web sites for both fun and for profit. Many of you are still working on that second bit of course and I hope that's where this web site will come in handy.

I created and ran www.uk-personals.net for over four years based on the revenue from banners and affiliate programmes alone before selling it to datingagency.com. At about the 10 month mark, the site earned back the first year's hosting fees and could be considered profitable in its own right. Essentially, this was the product of a split between various Affiliate Programmes and ValueClick banners. I also exploited the fact that my site is exclusively for UK visitors by re-directing visitors to overseas dating sites if they were not eligible... meaning I probably earned more from the 'wrong' visitors than the ones I actually looked for!

Along with my colleague Andy, I am often trawling around looking for new programmes to include in this directory, many of which I join myself of course. If you know of a good programme not listed here, please let me know. Meanwhile, go forth and profit!
